Who KNOWSBEST is for
KNOWSBEST helps mothers and maternal figures (Matchmakers) introduce the adult singles in their lives (Daters). Every Matchmaker and every Dater must be 18 or older. A Matchmaker may only create a profile for a Dater who is 18 or older, and no profile goes live until the Dater personally reviews and approves it.
We do not allow anyone under 18 to create an account, and we remove any account we learn belongs to a minor.
What we prohibit
We prohibit any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child. This includes:
-
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, including photos, videos, drawings, animation, or AI-generated images, and links to such material.
-
Grooming: building trust with a minor to sexually exploit or abuse them.
-
Sextortion: threatening or pressuring anyone over real or claimed intimate images of a minor.
-
Trafficking, soliciting, or enticing a minor for sexual purposes.
-
Any content that sexualizes a minor, including text, jokes, or role-play.
-
Using KNOWSBEST to contact, locate, or gain access to a minor.
-
Creating or managing a profile for anyone under 18.
-
Photos or videos of anyone under 18, including childhood photos of the Dater.
Never share, download, or forward suspected abuse material, even to
report it. Tell us where you saw it, and we will preserve it and handle it
properly.
How we handle reports
When we receive a child safety report, or otherwise learn of possible CSAE or CSAM, we follow this process:
1. We prioritize it
Child safety reports move to the front of our review queue.
2. A person reviews it
A trained member of our team reviews the reported profile, content, and relevant account activity.
3. We act
We remove prohibited content and suspend or permanently ban the accounts involved, including any linked Matchmaker or Dater account where appropriate, and block them from creating new accounts.
4. We report it
We report apparent CSAM, child sex trafficking, and enticement of a minor to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as U.S. law requires. NCMEC may share reports with law enforcement.
5. We preserve evidence and cooperate
We securely preserve reported material as required by law and respond to valid requests from law enforcement.
For the safety of everyone involved, we may not be able to share the outcome of every report.
Legal compliance
KNOWSBEST complies with applicable child safety laws, including federal laws prohibiting child sexual abuse material and exploitation, the reporting and preservation duties in 18 U.S.C. § 2258A (as amended by the REPORT Act), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and applicable Florida and other state laws. We also follow the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy and the Apple App Store Review Guidelines.
