Welcome to Knows Best's Privacy Policy. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
Knows Best LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Knows Best", "our", "we", or "us"), has created this Privacy Policy in order to explain our privacy practices. The following discloses our information-gathering and -dissemination practices for the Knows Best mobile application, Knows Best website, and any other Knows Best platforms (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy describes our privacy practices in conjunction with your use of the Platform and accessing or using our services (collectively, the "Service" or our "Services") through the Platform and includes, but is not limited to, the information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and your choices regarding your information. A user of the Knows Best Platform is hereinafter referred to as "you", "User", or collectively, the "Users" (as defined in our Terms).
By using the Knows Best Platform, you do hereby warrant and represent that you have read, understand and agree to all terms and conditions stated herein, including our Terms of Use, and our Child Safety Standards. The Terms of Use (the "Terms"), which is incorporated herein by reference, govern the use of the Services offered by Knows Best. You are giving Knows Best permission to use and store such information consistent with this Privacy Policy and our Terms.
Capitalized terms that are not otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy shall have the same meaning that is given to them in our Terms.
If you do not agree, or you do not feel comfortable with, any portion or provision of the Terms or of this Privacy Policy, you must not use or access the Knows Best Platform.

2. PRIVACY POLICY APPLICABILITY
This Privacy Policy applies to the Knows Best Platform and its Services.

3. INFORMATION COLLECTED
Users provide Knows Best certain information, including account information, profile details, preferences, photos, videos, messages, and other "Content" (as defined in our Terms), so that Knows Best can provide the Platform and its Services. Because the Platform uses a linked account structure, some information may be provided by a "Matchmaker" (as defined in our Terms) on behalf of a "Dater" (as defined in our Terms), subject to the Dater's ability to review, edit, add to, remove, delete, and finalize the information on the Profile before the Dater's Profile is published. Knows Best may store any uploaded User information (regardless of who uploads that information) subject to internal retention periods.
Other Users may provide information about you as they use the Platform. For example, a User may invite you to join the Platform or waitlist, or a User may contact us or submit a report involving you. Using the Platform also generates certain information, such as when you logged in, how you used the Platform, how you interacted with other Users, and the insights and inferences we generate based on the information and Content you provide. This information may include:
Account Data: When you create a User account, you provide basic information necessary to operate the Platform. This may include your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, authentication information, location, and other account details. A phone number or email address may be required for authentication. In setting up a linked account, both Matchmakers and Daters create accounts, and a Dater account must be linked to a Matchmaker account to access certain Platform features.
Account Security: We may suspend your use of all or part of the Platform without notice if we suspect or detect any breach of security, unauthorized access, misuse, fraud, or other activity that may affect the safety, security, or integrity of the Platform. If you believe that your account or information is no longer secure, please notify us by emailing HQ@knowsbestapp.com.
Profile Data: When a Profile is created or completed, we collect information included in that Profile, such as gender, interests, preferences, age, location, biographical information, profile prompts, photos, videos, and other details provided through the Platform. A Matchmaker may initially provide Profile Data on behalf of a Dater when creating or editing a profile. Before a Dater's Profile is published or made visible to other Users, the Dater has an opportunity to review, edit, add to, remove, delete, or finalize the Profile information. Some Profile Data may be considered sensitive under applicable law, such as, but not limited to, information relating to dating preferences, religious beliefs, political beliefs, ancestry, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. If you choose to provide this information, or if a Matchmaker provides it on behalf of a Dater and the Dater approves it for publication, you consent to Knows Best processing it as described in this Privacy Policy. Knows Best may store any Profile Data subject to internal retention periods.
Content: When you use the Platform, you may provide photos, videos, text, profile prompts, responses, preferences, messages, and other Content. This includes messages between Matchmakers, messages between Daters, reports submitted to Knows Best, and other information you provide through the Platform. Knows Best may access, review, store, and process messages and other Content for purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including safety, moderation, customer support, legal compliance, enforcement of our Terms, and improvement of the Platform.
Purchase Data: When you make a purchase or request a refund, we may receive and keep certain details of the transaction, such as what you purchased, the date of the transaction, the price, subscription status, operating system type, and other purchase or refund information. Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or other authorized third-party app store providers. Although Knows Best does not receive or store your complete payment information from those providers, we may receive limited transaction information necessary to confirm, administer, and support the purchase or refund.
Marketing and Research Data: We may collect information when you sign up to join the Platform, invite others to join the Platform, participate in surveys, participate in focus groups, provide feedback, respond to research questions, or participate in promotions or similar activities that Knows Best may offer from time to time. This may include your name, email address, location, responses, feedback, and information about people you invite to the Platform. When you participate in surveys, participate in focus groups, provide feedback, respond to research questions, or participate in promotions or similar activities that Knows Best may offer from time to time, you give Knows Best permission to use your responses to understand User demographics, improve the Platform, and develop future advertising, sponsorship, marketing, research, or business opportunities.
Third-Party Data: When you choose to share information about another person with us, such as when you invite someone to join the waitlist or Platform, create or contribute to a Profile for a Dater, or submit a report involving another User, we process that information to complete your request, operate the Platform, and enforce our Terms. You should not provide information about another person unless you have the right to do so. Knows Best may receive information from third parties, such as service providers, analytics providers, app store providers, authentication providers, safety or security providers, and other partners who help us operate, improve, protect, and support the Platform.
Customer Support and Reporting Data: When you contact us, submit a report (whether in the app or by email), appeal a decision, or otherwise communicate with Knows Best, we collect the information you provide that may be necessary to address your inquiry. Other Users may also submit reports or inquiries involving you. Knows Best may collect, monitor, access, review, retain and use additional information, including account data, Profile data, Content, messages, usage information, device information, and other relevant information, as part of customer support, training, quality assurance, moderation, safety, security, or legal investigations. If you are suspended, banned, or removed from Knows Best, we may retain and use certain information as necessary to enforce our Terms, close or restrict your account, prevent you from creating another account, protect other Users, investigate misconduct, and protect the safety, security, and integrity of the Platform. Where legally allowed, we may also receive information about suspected or confirmed misconduct, fraud, safety issues, or other harmful activity from Users, service providers, public sources, or other third parties as part of our efforts to maintain the safety and security of the Platform.
Usage Data: Using the Platform generates data about your activity, including when you logged in, features you used, actions taken, information shown to you, pages or screens viewed, searches, matches, recommendations, messages sent or received, reports submitted, and how you interact with other Users. We may use Google Firebase and other analytics tools now or in the future to help us understand how Users use the Platform, improve features, troubleshoot issues, and evaluate Platform performance.
Technical Data: Using the Platform involves the collection of data from and about the device(s) you use to access the Platform, including hardware and software information such as IP address, device ID, device type, operating system, browser type, app settings and characteristics, time zone, network information, mobile carrier, crash data, log data, analytics identifiers, cookie identifiers, and other identifiers associated with cookies or similar technologies that may identify a device or browser. We collect information about your activity on the Platform, including how you use it, the date and time you logged in, features you use, searches, clicks, pages or screens shown to you, referring webpage address, matches, recommendations, reports, and how you interact with other Users, including the Users you connect with, the time and date of exchanges, and the number of messages you send and receive. See Section 4 below for more information about cookies and similar technologies.
Insights and Inferences: Using the Platform may involve the generation of insights and inferences drawn from your interactions, activity, preferences, Profile, Content, and other information you provide or generate through the Platform. Knows Best may analyze, access, store, and use such information, including through machine learning, automated tools, and other technologies, to operate, personalize, monitor, develop, secure, and improve the Platform, in accordance with applicable law.
Geolocation Data: If you are a User and you give us permission, we may collect precise geolocation information, such as latitude and longitude, from your device to operate location-based features of the Platform, including but not limited to setting a preference of dating location. If you decline permission, certain features that rely on precise geolocation may not be available to you.

4. COOKIES AND OTHER DATA COLLECTION TECHNOLOGIES
We use and may allow service providers to use cookies, pixels, software development kits, web beacons, analytics tools, and similar technologies to recognize you and/or your device(s), authenticate you, remember your preferences and settings, analyze Platform traffic and trends, understand how Users interact with the Platform, improve the Platform, detect and prevent fraud or security issues, and support other Platform functionality. Knows Best does not currently display advertising on the Platform or sell personal data. If Knows Best introduces advertising or targeted advertising in the future, we may update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices and choices required by applicable law.
cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. Knows Best uses cookies to provide and improve services through the Knows Best Platform. We may utilize persistent cookies that only Knows Best can read and use, or session ID cookies that are deleted from your hard drive when you log off from the Application and Knows Best Platform and then close your browser. Third party advertisers on the Knows Best Platform may also place or read cookies on your browser and we may use Flash cookies (or local shared objects) to store your preferences or display content based upon what you view on our site to personalize your visit.

Persistent Cookies: We may use persistent cookies to save your login information for future logins to the Knows Best Platform, to hold session information, and to track user preferences in order to tailor advertisements and content on the Knows Best Platform to your preferences and interests.
Session ID Cookies: We may utilize session ID cookies to enable certain features of the Knows Best Platform, to better understand how you interact with the Knows Best Platform, to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on the Knows Best Platform, and to identify visited areas of the Knows Best Platform.
Manage Cookies: When you access the Knows Best Platform, you may opt to stop accepting cookies or to be prompted before accepting a cookie from the Knows Best Platform or its third party advertisers. If you do not accept cookies, however, you may not be able to use all portions or all functionalities of the Knows Best Platform.
Web Beacons: We may also use "web beacons," also known as "pixel tags" or "clear GIFs," or similar means in connection with the Knows Best Platform to, among other things, track the actions of Users and email recipients, to measure the performance of the Application, to determine the success of marketing campaigns, and to compile aggregate statistics about Application usage and response rates. This information is collected anonymously and in a manner that does not personally identify you. Web beacons are typically embedded invisibly on webpages or in an email.
Log File Information: Log file information is automatically reported by your browser each time you make a request to access (i.e., visit) a web page or app. It can also be provided when the content of the webpage or app is downloaded to your browser or device. When you use our Knows Best Platform, our servers automatically record certain log file information, including your web request, Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, referring / exit pages and URLs, number of clicks and how you interact with links on the Knows Best Platform, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information. We may also collect similar information from emails sent to our Users which then help us track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. The information allows for more accurate reporting and improvement of the Knows Best Platform.
Metadata: Metadata is usually technical data that is associated with User Content. For example, Metadata can describe how, when, and by whom a piece of User Content was collected and how that content is formatted. Users may add or have Metadata added to their User Content. This makes your User Content more searchable by others and more interactive.

5. INFORMATION USED
The reasons we use your information include to operate, deliver, secure, monitor, personalize, and improve the Platform. We also use information to help Matchmakers and Daters connect, support the linked account structure, communicate with Users, process purchases and subscriptions through authorized app store providers, respond to requests, enforce our Terms, protect the safety and security of Users, and comply with applicable law.
Knows Best may use User information to provide the Platform's Services, including to:

• Create, authenticate, and manage User accounts;

• Create and maintain linked Matchmaker and Dater accounts;

• Provide, operate, maintain, and support the Platform;

• Provide you with customer support and respond to User requests, reports, and appeals;

• Confirm, administer, and support transactions, purchases, refunds, and subscriptions processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or other authorized providers; and

• Communicate with you about the Platform, including account updates, service notices, billing, safety notices, and changes to our terms or policies.
   

Knows Best may use User information to help Users connect with other Users, including to:

• Analyze Profile data, activity on the Platform, preferences, location information, and other information to recommend potential connections, introductions, matches, or communications;

• Show Profiles and other User information to other Users according to the functionality of the Platform, the linked account structure, User role, subscription status, selected features, and applicable settings;

• Enable Matchmakers to review Dater Profiles, communicate with other Matchmakers, and recommend potential introductions;

• Enable Daters to review approved recommendations and communicate with other Daters through the Platform; and

• Generate insights and inferences, including through automated tools and machine learning technologies, to operate, personalize, develop, and improve the Platform.
   

Knows Best may use User information to communicate with Users and support Platform growth, including to:

• Administer account creation, referral features, promotions, discounts, offers, surveys, focus groups, or similar activities that Knows Best may offer from time to time;

• Communicate with you by email, phone, text message, push notification, in-app message, or other means about the Platform, your account, invitations, waitlist status, updates, features, subscriptions, and safety information; and

• Use User information to understand User demographics, evaluate Platform performance, and develop future advertising, sponsorship, marketing, or business opportunities.
   

Knows Best may use User information to improve Services, including to:

• Administer surveys, focus groups, feedback requests, research, and similar activities;

• Use Google Firebase and other analytics tools now or in the future to understand User behavior, improve Platform functionality, and evaluate Platform performance;

• Conduct research and analysis of User behavior, Profile Data, Content, messages, preferences, interactions, and technical data to improve the Platform and its Content;

• Develop, test, and improve existing or new features, including features that may use machine learning, automated tools, or other technologies; and

• Troubleshoot, debug, analyze, and fix errors, crashes, and other technical issues.
   

Knows Best may use User data to prevent, detect and fight fraud or other illegal or unauthorized activities, including to:

• Address ongoing or alleged misconduct, misuse, fraud, safety issues, or other harmful behavior on or off the Platform;

• Review Account Data, Profile Data, Content, messages, reports, usage information, device information, and other relevant information for safety, moderation, customer support, legal compliance, or enforcement purposes;

• Perform data analysis to better understand and design countermeasures against fraud, abuse, harassment, evasion, and other unauthorized activity;

• Retain information related to bans, suspensions, fraud, or unsafe activity to prevent recurrence;

• Enforce our Terms, Child Safety Standards, Community Guidelines, Safe Dating Advice, and other applicable policies; and

• Prevent, investigate, and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation, including removing accounts that belong to or are created for anyone under 18.
   

Knows Best may use User data to ensure legal compliance, including to:

• Comply with legal requirements, court orders, subpoenas, law enforcement requests, and other legal processes;

• Assist law enforcement or other governmental authorities where required or permitted by law;

• Report apparent child sexual abuse material, child sex trafficking, or enticement of a minor to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law;

• Establish, exercise, defend, or enforce legal rights, including our Terms;

• Investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected fraud, illegal activity, safety concerns, or other wrongdoing; and

• Protect the rights, property, safety, and security of Knows Best, Users, service providers, and others.

6. INFORMATION SHARED
The main sharing of User information is with other Users for the purpose of operating the Platform and helping Users make meaningful connections. Because Knows Best uses a linked Matchmaker and Dater account structure, information may be visible to different Users depending on the User's role, the status of the Profile, the selected feature, subscription status, and Platform functionality. Knows Best may also share information with service providers, analytics providers, app store providers, vendors, partners, affiliates, and, in some cases, legal authorities.
With Other Users: Users share information with other Users through the Platform, including through Profiles, messages, recommendations, reports, and other features. Please be careful with your information and make sure that the Content shared is information you are comfortable sharing, because neither you nor Knows Best can control what other Users do with your information once they view, copy, save, or share it.
Once a Dater's Profile is approved and published, it may be visible to other Users according to Platform functionality, User role, selected features, subscription status, and applicable settings. Matchmakers may view Dater Profiles and communicate with other Matchmakers through the Platform. Daters may be able to communicate with other Daters after a mutual recommendation or other Platform-enabled connection. Knows Best may view, access, review, store, and process private messages sent or received through the Platform as described in this Privacy Policy.
If someone submits a report involving you, such as a claim that you violated our Terms, Child Safety Standards, Community Guidelines, or Safe Dating Advice, we may let the reporter know what action we took, if any, as a result of their report, unless doing so would impair the safety, security, privacy, or rights of another User or Knows Best. The same applies if you submit a report involving another User.
Service Providers, Partners, and Affiliates: Knows Best may share data with service providers, vendors, partners, and affiliates who help us operate, promote and improve our Services. They may provide us services such as data hosting and maintenance, analytics, customer care, marketing, advertising, payment processing, legal support, and security operations. Depending on the service provided by the vendor or partner, it may include Profile data, Content, Purchase data, Geolocation data, and more.
App Store Providers: If you make a purchase or subscribe to paid features, your transaction will be processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or another authorized third-party app store provider. These providers may process your payment information under their own terms and privacy policies. Knows Best may receive limited transaction information necessary to confirm, administer, and support your purchase, subscription, refund request, or account.
Law Enforcement Authorities: We may disclose your data to: (i) comply with legal process, such as a court order, subpoena, search warrant, government or law enforcement investigation, or other legal requirement; (ii) assist in the prevention or detection of crime, fraud, safety issues, or other harmful activity; (iii) protect the safety of any person; and (iv) establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. The categories of data shared will vary depending on the specific circumstances surrounding the request, but may include Profile data, Content, messages, Purchase data, Customer Support data, usage data, geolocation data, and other relevant information.
Child Safety Reporting: Where we obtain actual knowledge of apparent child sexual abuse material, child sex trafficking, or enticement of a minor, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. These reports may include Profile data, Content, messages, account and technical data, and other information about the Users involved, and NCMEC may make them available to law enforcement.
Enforce Legal Rights: We may also share information: (i) if disclosure would mitigate our liability in an actual or threatened lawsuit; (ii) as necessary to protect our legal rights and the legal rights of our Users, business partners, service providers, or other interested parties; (iii) to enforce our agreements with you, including our Terms; and (iv) to investigate, prevent, or take other action regarding illegal activity, suspected fraud, safety issues, misuse, or other wrongdoing.
Corporate Transactions: We may transfer your data to Knows Best Affiliates or new owner(s) if Knows Best is involved, whether in whole or in part, in a merger, sale, acquisition, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, bankruptcy, financing, investment, or other change of ownership or control. The categories of data shared will vary based on the type of corporate transaction and may include some or all of the information described in this Privacy Policy.

7. SALE OF PERSONAL DATA; ADVERTISING
Although Knows Best does not currently sell personal data and does not currently display advertising on the Platform, Knows Best reserves the right to do so in the future. In addition, Knows Best may use Google Firebase and other analytics tools now or in the future to analyze Platform use, understand User behavior, evaluate Platform performance, and improve the Platform.
Knows Best may use aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information to understand User demographics and develop future advertising, sponsorship, research, marketing, or business opportunities. If Knows Best later introduces advertising, targeted advertising, or any practice that requires additional notice, consent, or opt-out rights under applicable law, Knows Best will update this Privacy Policy and provide notices and choices required by applicable law.

8. USER RIGHTS
We want Users to understand their rights, options, and tools regarding their information. Depending on where you live and the nature of your request, you may have some or all of the rights described below.
Access: Users may access and review certain personal information by logging into their account or Profile. Users with questions or requests relating to their personal data may email HQ@knowsbestapp.com.
Rectification or Correction: Users may amend or update certain personal data directly through the Platform where available. A Dater may review, edit, add to, remove, delete, or finalize the Profile information provided by a Matchmaker before the Dater's Profile is published. If a User believes that information Knows Best holds about the User is inaccurate, incomplete, or should no longer be used, the User may email HQ@knowsbestapp.com to request correction, deletion, or other appropriate action.
Deletion: Users may delete certain information directly within the Platform where available. Users may also close their account or request deletion by contacting Knows Best at HQ@knowsbestapp.com. If a Matchmaker deletes the Matchmaker account, the linked Dater account will also be deleted from active Platform visibility. If a Dater deletes the Dater account, the linked Matchmaker account will not automatically be deleted. Deletion of an account or Profile does not automatically cancel any subscription or purchase processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or another third-party app store provider. Users must manage or cancel subscriptions through the applicable app store provider. Knows Best may retain certain information after deletion, as described in Section 9.
Consents, Objection, or Restriction: Users may withdraw consent previously provided to Knows Best for a specific purpose by updating account settings where available, removing device permissions through device settings, or contacting Knows Best (including permissions for location services, camera, photo library, push notifications, or similar device-level permissions). Users may also object to Knows Best processing personal data or request that Knows Best temporarily or permanently stop processing certain personal data, where required by applicable law. You may opt out of certain processing through your account settings or device settings where available, or by contacting HQ@knowsbestapp.com. Some requests, withdrawals of consent, or other actions taken under this section may limit or prevent Knows Best from providing certain Platform features and/or Services.
Uninstall: Users can stop future information collection through the mobile application by uninstalling it using the standard uninstall process for the device. Uninstalling the application does not delete your account, delete all previously collected information, or cancel subscriptions processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or another third-party app store provider. If you reinstall the application on the same device, Knows Best may be able to associate the device or account with prior activity, transactions, or account information.
Verification of Requests: For the protection of all Users, Knows Best may ask for information to verify User identities before responding to privacy requests. Knows Best may reject or limit requests, including where Knows Best is unable to authenticate the User, where the request is unlawful, excessive, or fraudulent, where the request could infringe on trade secrets, intellectual property, or the privacy or rights of another person, or where Knows Best is permitted or required to retain the information by law. We may not be able to accommodate certain privacy requests where doing so would prevent us from providing the Platform. For example, we cannot provide certain Services if we cannot verify your age or authenticate your account.

9. INFORMATION RETENTION
If you decide to stop using Knows Best's Services, you may delete your Profile and/or account through the Platform. Once an account or Profile is deleted, it will no longer be visible to other Users through the active Platform, subject to technical limitations and reasonable processing time. If a Matchmaker deletes the Matchmaker account, the linked Dater account will also be deleted from active Platform visibility. If a Dater deletes the Dater account, the linked Matchmaker account will not automatically be deleted.
After account deletion or closure, Knows Best may delete, de-identify, anonymize, or retain information as reasonably necessary and permitted by applicable law. Even though our systems are designed to carry out deletion processes according to our internal practices, we cannot promise that all data will be deleted within a specific timeframe due to technical constraints, backups, legal obligations, safety needs, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legitimate business purposes.
Following account deletion, closure, suspension, or termination, Knows Best may in its sole and absolute discretion, retain certain information where reasonably necessary, appropriate, or permitted by applicable law, including, but not limited to: protecting the safety and security of Users and the Platform; investigating or preventing fraud, misuse, harmful conduct, or unlawful activity; preventing banned, suspended, or removed Users from creating new accounts; complying with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, or law enforcement obligations; processing, confirming, or supporting purchases, subscriptions, chargebacks, refunds, or related transaction records; responding to customer support requests, reports, appeals, disputes, or legal claims; enforcing our Terms, Child Safety Standards, Community Guidelines, Safe Dating Advice, and other policies; maintaining business records; preserving information required by subpoena, court order, law enforcement request, litigation hold, or similar legal process; and maintaining backups, logs, security records, or technical records for a reasonable period.
When we make a report to NCMEC, we securely preserve the reported content and related information for at least one year, or longer where permitted or required by law, to support investigations by law enforcement. This information is preserved even if the account involved is deleted.

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY AND CHILD SAFETY
Knows Best's Platform and Services are restricted to Users who are 18 years of age or older and located in the United States. We do not permit anyone under 18 to create an account, and Matchmakers may not create or manage a Profile for anyone under 18. All photos and videos on the Platform must show only individuals who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, or that personal information or images of a minor have been submitted to the Platform, we will remove the account or content and delete that information, except where we are required by law to preserve it.
If you suspect that a User is under 18, or have any concern about the safety of a minor, please report it in the app or by emailing HQ@knowsbestapp.com. Our Child Safety Standards, including how we review reports and cooperate with authorities, are available at knowsbestapp.com/child-safety.

11. PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES
Because we may update, improve, or change the Platform over time, this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will notify you of material changes as required by applicable law, which may include notice through the Platform, by email, or by other reasonable means.
